MD. COMPANIES AWARDED $50,000 EACH FROM TECH TRANSFER FUND
June
22, 2004 - Columbia, MD -- The Maryland Technology Development Corporation
(TEDCO) said on Tuesday that it has awarded six state companies
$50,000 each from its Maryland Technology Transfer Fund. The six
companies -- Frederick-based Atlantic Biomass Conversions, Gaithersburg-based
AriaVax, College Park-based Chesapeake Perl, Baltimore-based Diagnosoft,
Rockville-based DVIP Multimedia and College Park-based Innovative
Biosensors -- will use the funding to continue researching and developing
their respective technologies. Applications for the fund are accepted
continually and reviewed monthly by representatives from TEDCO and
the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development.

ENTERS AGREEMENT WITH KEY GOV'T AGENCY
May 4, 2004 - Rockville, MD --- Early stage
digital imaging company DVIP Multimedia (DVIP), developer of advanced
imaging software technology for homeland security, announced today
that it has entered into a two-year cooperative research and development
agreement with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA),
Reston, VA. Under this agreement, the NGA will explore the technical
utility of DVIP's "in-situ" digital imaging technology
in NGA imaging tasks. "This agreement is a significant milestone
in DVIP's effort to heighten the information gathering capabilities
of systems where critical decisions are made from digital (video)
images," says Dr. Damon Tull, CEO of DVIP. DVIP technology
is inspiring 'smart cameras' that will simplify the analysis, correction,
and manipulation of digital images and video in surveillance and
photography.
